I was looking forward to having some thai food. I went in with a good friend of mine. I had the salted squid, and my friend had the rice paper rolls filled with chicken, prawns, mint and noodles.
good:
- friendly staff, who read back to us what we had ordered.
- speed, entree's got served under 5-7 min.
Bad:
- salt squid
# there was no salt, or very minor amount of salt in there. If i would order this, i would expect at least some kitchen salt, or even better, fresh flaked sea salt on top. This was the best meal we had.
- paper rolls
# the chicken in the rolls looked and tasted processed, no chicken breast but just grinded down/flakes of chicken. Had the texture & flavour of tofu. No seasoning.
- char grilled beef with steamed vegetables. With sweet and sour sauce.
# This was the worst dish we had. There was no single, char grilled piece of beef like the menu insinuates, instead thin sliced beef like you get in the noodles. It was not char grilled, i would say cooked, or minor pan fried. The vegetables were floating in a big pool of tasteless sauce. And there was a steamed soft and slimy tomato in the dish.
- banana split & deep fried icecream.
# They did not have any desserts, nor the banana splt, which origins from the USA. So we decided to go with the only choices left, a bowl of icecream with whipped cream, and deep fried icecream. The bowl of icecream, for $2,50 should not be submitted to any critical remarks for that amount. But, in a restaurant you want to impress your customers, so that they will come back. With this tasteless icecream with unsweetened whiped cream on top, they did not.
The deep fried icecream was not crunchy, and had the same wierd icecream as the bowl of icecream.
I am not impressed, left with a sad feeling, slightly hungry, and i did not got any touch of thai. The menu's are edited with stickers and a pen, meanwhile they undercharged on the desserts, which had the correct pricing on the menu.
Tables were old and sticky, i could scrape the paint off with my fingernails.
