Lane Cove BBQ Kitchen is a local Chinese restaurant open everyday for lunch and dinner. Enjoy from the menu a range of BBQ favourites like crispy skin chicken, duck and crispy pork to complement rice and noodle combinations with many more meat, seafood and vegetable stir fries and hotpots. The kitchen closes lunch at 2:30pm and reopens for dinner at 5pm. The restaurant accepts BYO and takeaway is also available.

If your like me, you prefer your food served so it tastes Chinese, but more in a North Shore Restaurant atmosphere, well keep reading. So I order my BBQ pork with rice from a table near the front and my friend orders the Chicken and Black Bean with fried rice. But rather than write down the order, they prefer to yell over your table directly through the kitchen wall to the chef, who not so much repeats the order back, but is yelled at several times just in case they missed the first three times.We questioned whether the chef spoke Chinese, as it didn't sound like it.
No one else was in the restaurant on a Tuesday night and no Takeaway orders we could see. Wish we were as smart.
The food itself was just al-right and this being my second visit, I can say I honestly have given them a chance. Absolutely nothing to write home about, and honestly something I could make myself if I could be bothered. Both meals were around the $13 mark.
As for the slum market atmosphere, that didn't stop the whole meal. With our waitress, sitting over from another lady and simply yelling at each other across the small table. This was only breached when the chef yelled through the walls - which resulted in the glorious authenticity of being in a Chinese slum - which would have been fine if the food was better and you like that sort of thing. I've been in a Chatswood (Cabramatta of the North Shore) restaurants which have more people and are quieter than BBQ Kitchen.

My favourite dishes are the crispy skinned chicken with ginger, and the pork with peking sauce. The staff are always friendly and make sure that everything is to your satisfaction. Wonderful value for money.
